Mindful Healing

These relaxation techniques help our individuals become more aware of their bodies and therefore better able to manage their emotions.

What is Mindful Healing?

Mindfulness is the cognitive process of purposely bringing one’s attention to experiences occurring in the present moment without judgment. It begins with the practice of meditation and through other training. Research has shown that mindfulness is an effective technique used in addiction treatment. At Road to Recovery Wellness Center in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, our clients practice mindfulness in a few ways:

Meditation

One of the most basic ways mindfulness makes our clients feel better is by slowing things down, so they aren’t rushing from one activity to another, or even one thought to another. By quieting the mental chatter, our clients can achieve a sense of tranquility to enhance their recovery in quiet comfortable rooms.

Sensory Experiences

Another way that mindfulness makes our clients feel better is by allowing them to start to notice various sensory experiences that occur in everyday life. They allow the beauty of the world around them while filling their consciousness.

Managing Stress

A third way that mindfulness makes our clients feel better is by understanding their reactions to situations without becoming stressed. When our clients meditate they reduce stress, enhance performance, gain insight and awareness through observing their own mind and thoughts.
